CouponSnap ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is a free, open-source browser extension that automatically finds and applies coupon codes when you shop online. This Privacy Policy explains how CouponSnap handles your information.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

CouponSnap is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
Browsing history or browsing habits
Shopping cart contents or purchase history
Payment or financial information
Cookies or tracking identifiers
IP addresses
Device fingerprints

3. How CouponSnap Works

When you visit a supported shopping website:

The extension checks the current website URL against its locally stored list of supported retailers.
If a match is found, the extension searches for available coupon codes from its local database.
Coupon codes are tested by automatically entering them into the retailer's coupon field on the checkout page.
All processing happens entirely within your browser. No data is sent to external servers.

4. Data Storage

CouponSnap stores the following data locally on your device only using Chrome's built-in storage API:

Extension settings and preferences
Coupon code database (bundled with the extension)

This data never leaves your device and is automatically removed when you uninstall the extension.

5. Third-Party Services

CouponSnap does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tools.

6. Affiliate Links

CouponSnap may use affiliate links (e.g., Amazon Associates) when you click on certain retailer links. This helps support the free development of the extension. Affiliate links do not collect any additional personal data beyond what the retailer normally collects during your visit.

7. Permissions

CouponSnap requests the following browser permissions:

activeTab: To detect the current shopping website and apply coupons on the checkout page.
storage: To save your extension preferences locally on your device.

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and not for data collection.

8. Children's Privacy

CouponSnap does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data from any users, this policy applies equally to all age groups.
